Planned Bridge Rail Repairs on US-31 over Shades Creek and the Homewood Shades Creek Greenway walking trail
HOMEWOOD - Weather permitting, on Wednesday, February 12, between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation will make repairs on the US-31 northbound outside (right) bridge rail, over Shades Creek and the Homewood Shades Creek Greenway Walking Trail. The work will proceed as follows:
. The bridge rail repairs will be made on the US-31 northbound outside (right) bridge rail.
. The US-31 northbound outside (right) travel lane and shoulder will be closed to provide adequate space for equipment and personnel.
. The Homewood Shades Creek Greenway Walking Trail underneath the bridge will also be closed during this work.
. This work will require approximately 5 working days to complete.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama's roadways.
